Surya Kumar Yadav to miss first round of Duleep Trophy 2024

Surya Kumar Yadav faced a hand injury during Buchi babu tournament during fielding stimulation practice because of which he did not came to bat in second innings as a precautionary measure also Mumbai lost the match as they were already chasing a 500 plus score without one batter in the playing11.

Surya was very eager to make his way in Indian test team as he believes he is not a one format player and was playing Buchi babu tournament to get some big runs and game time before Duleep trophy matches as he was selected in India C Squad led by Ruturaj Gaikwad and a very long international test season both home and away matches was in schedule of Indian team but now it’s difficult for Surya to get chance in any test series because of injury and the stiff competition in middle order.

Surya reported in NCA Bengaluru for assessment of the degree and recovery of injury and is being advised to rest.
